The 2011 Chrysler 300 was trotted out as an all-new car. It wasn't. The 2012 isn't much newer, but it's still an improvement and there are now lots of them to choose from.
At the top end is the Chrysler 300 SRT8 which, for all its initials, is a giant slab of raw American power. Like 465 hp/lb-ft of torque on 20-inch wheels. We called it a fridge and we meant it in the best possible way. If you saw our waistlines you'd understand.
But what if you want the look but with a smaller engine?
Just below that is the Chrysler 300S, which is style over substance but targeted at a group for whom style is substance. In S-trim you're getting either the 363 5.7-liter HEMI V8 pushed through a paddle-shifting five-speed or the new 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with 292 horsepower with the new ZF eight-speed automatic.
Feeling a bit presidential? Step on over to the Chrysler 300C Executive Series. Chrysler calls this the "most luxurious Chrysler flagship sedan ever," but there's a catch. The Frank Sinatra Imperial only came as a coupe.
What the Exec Series lacks in a Mark Cross briefcase full of Sinatra tapes it supposedly makes up for with enough cow hide to embarrass J.R. and fancy colors like "Black Poltrona Frau Foligno and Mochachino. The biggest feature is the platinum-chrome finished grille.
