Welcome to Down On The Street, where we admire old vehicles parked on the streets of the Island That Rust Forgot: Alameda, California. We've seen a 924 and a couple of 944s, and today we shall check out a 968.

The '94 968 coupe listed at $39,950, or about two grand more than the '94 Nissan 300ZX Turbo coupe. The Nissan came with 300 horsepower versus the Porsche's 236, but weighed nearly 500 pounds more. Which would you have bought?

This Porsche belongs to the same LeMons-racing household as the '92 Daihatsu Rocky and the '69 Morris Minor Traveller wagon, making for a vehicle mix that must have the neighbors a bit confused.

I'll take the porsche.

236 NA horsepower out of a 4-banger.

~10,000 total production for ALL 968's so you probably wont see these in traffic.

Enough production improvements over the bullet-proof

944 to warrant a whole new name....

Also, I don't imagine being the fastest matters when i'm so involved in the driving experience. Having Driven a 300zx...i'll take the porsche over it.

And it's not like they didn't make a turbo version of this car too, which rocked over 300 hp. Game over.
