This year’s Woodward Dream Cruise, while dampened a bit by rain, still brought out some exceptionally quirky cars, along with some fantastically compelling ones. Here’s what I saw on Michigan’s M-1.
The Woodward Dream Cruise, perhaps the biggest car show in the world, is a huge deal in Motor City. It often represents the culmination of years spent in ice-cold garages wrenching on rust-buckets, and far too many hours buried in repair manuals.
“I’ll have this ready by Next Year’s Dream Cruise,” many Detroiters say as they nurse their bleeding knuckles with ice packs. Many never make it. Some get close, and decide to just throw their projects on flatbeds and tow them down Detroit’s legendary highway.
The lucky ones beam with pride as they drive their beautifully-running, gorgeous project down Woodward, perhaps keeping an eye on that coolant temp, just in case.
Here are those lucky ones, starting with the weird cars (and there were plenty):

Enough of the weird stuff, here are some gorgeous cars I saw as I walked up and down Woodward between 9 Mile and 13 Mile.
So that’s what I saw at the Dream Cruise. Let’s see your pictures!
