I like small cars. I like sports cars. And yet for some reason, I love Buick's Master of Roads.
John Davis of Motorweek seems to like the car, what with its full instrumentation, excellent horn, and seats that are "almost too comfortable." Also, good cupholders.
Motorweek says the suspension isn't too floaty, and was welcome on backroads. Oh, and that trunk? 24 cubic feet.
The only problem, as I see it is, is the 5.7l V8 taken from a goddamn Chevy. I could live with 180 horsepower and 290 lb·ft in a car this big, but I couldn't live with a Chevy engine in a Buick. That's why I would swap in a late '90s 6.5 liter Detroit Diesel. At least 530 lb·ft of torque would forgive the any bowtie associations the diesel had with the Suburban.
MotorWeek Theater is our showcase of some of our favorite classic reviews from public television's finest motoring program. How does this video only have 2,932 views? It's got the #masterofroads.
