The Transit PTV can carry 12 people in three separate compartments thanks to its prisoner conveyance system Ford created with Pennsylvania-based Havis Prisoner Transport Solutions. The 2015 Transit it's based on is available with two gas engines, an E85-capable 3.7-liter V6 and the 3.5-liter EcoBoost as well as a 3.2-liter Power Stroke diesel.
With the Ford Inceptor SUVs being hugely popular among law enforcement officials and with 25,000 sedans and utilities sold in 2013, the PTV might just be Ford's next big hit in the land of 2.4 million inmates.
