Just revealed today at CES, the Focus Electric is Ford's first fuel-free, rechargeable passenger car. More importantly, it will supposedly offer a mile-per-gallon equivalent fuel economy that's better than the Chevrolet Volt and competitive with other battery electric vehicles. How?

The Ford Focus Electric will debut at this year's Consumer Electronics Show and a teaser photo of it posted on the company's Facebook page shows off a Tron-style glowing outlet orb. The Focus Electric goes on sale next year.

Ford mentioned an electric commercial van for 2010 with an electric sedan by 2011 when announcing its latest recovery plan in December. That electric sedan may be based on the next-generation Ford Focus.
