For some reason, the commies weren't really into sports cars. Maybe driving for something other than to transport political prisoners around seemed like a waste of precious resources. No matter, this didn't stop the engineers of the nationalized factories from creating beautiful machines from the bits and pieces they could get behind the Iron Curtain.
Some cars were produced in small numbers for the loyal friends of the system, some never made it past the prototype phase, while a certain Lada even managed to attract crowds after the fall of the Soviet Union. Here they are, from special Trabants to mid-engined Dacias. All of them are great reasons for having a democracy.
