Appearances mean everything to you. You want to look rugged. You want people to think you're a great driver. You want to appear frugal and like you care about the environment. But you aren't any of these things. What car do you buy?
If there's one car that says "I'm very serious about performance driving" but is also driven nearly exclusively by people that have no clue what they're doing behind the wheel would have to be the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet. It's a 911, so it's sporty, but it has no roof because wind is nice and all-wheel drive because that's safer. But it's not an S because that's too fast/they just don't care.
If you drive through any hoity toity neighborhood, I can almost guarantee that you will see a ton of 911 C4 Cabrios because the people there want to look sporty and everyone they know has one.
