Cars, I believe, are meant to be driven. Not parked in a private collection, or worse, some climate-controlled storage facility while they rise in “value.” No! They must be driven, and if you trust another driver, that means sharing your passion with them too.
It should be okay to let someone else drive your car, if you feel confident they’ll take care of it. That’s my rule. But like any rule, there are exceptions.
While we’re on the subject of Mercedes SLs that aren’t hideous, if I had a 300SL “Gullwing,” I probably would not let you drive it. Sorry. Don’t mean to be a dick, but that’s how it would be.
What car would you not let someone else drive? Let me clarify that you’d drive it, but you’d keep it to yourself, for whatever reason.
