I'm a big fan of New York-based indie outfit Vampire Weekend. I'm also a big fan of old Saabs. Wouldn't it be neat if a Vampire Weekend video featured old Saabs? Of course! It would be even better if they didn't SET THEM ON FIRE.

That's exactly what the band did in the video for their new song, "Diane Young," which dropped this week. In it we see a 900 convertible engulfed in slow-motion flames, and towards the end it repeatedly flips between that and a flaming white 900 hatch.

Gentlemen, I don't know what makes you hate Saabs so much that you have to torch them for your video, but I for one think that car brand has been through enough.

I'll let it slide just this one time because the song is insanely catchy. Try to avoid setting fire to any other 1980s automotive icons, please.
