Here's What Driving The Hennessey Venom GT Is Like

We've been waiting for someone to test drive the turbocharged, double-OMFG Hennessey Venom, and someone finally did. That someone is Matt Farah. Prepare to feast your ears on one of the most amazing sounds you've ever heard on the highway. Farah screaming his head off.

As you're watching (and listening) to what it sounds like to be close to a Venom GT at throttle up, remember the immortal words of John Hennessey, builder of the 1,200-horsepower mega-Lotus:

"Their Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse is NOT the fastest open top car in the world," Hennessey emailed us this morning. "The Venom GT Spyder is and we will prove it in the near future. Bugatti can kiss my ass."

While Lotus may have built something sort of like it back in the 1990s, there's nothing quite like the Venom — nothing as frightening to drive or contemplate, nothing as menacing-looking for its small size and nothing as compelling to bench-race.

And, judging from Farah's outcries, nothing that provides as many chuckles per mile.
