Former NFL player Brian Iwuh and a firefighter were injured this morning in Houston after Iwuh's Range Rover crashed into a fire truck early this morning, according to news reports. Houston's KHOU said that the fire truck was responding to a call around 2 a.m. when the Range Rover crashed into it from behind.
The TV station reported that the firefighter had non-life threatening injuries, while the driver — later confirmed to be Brian Iwuh — was hospitalized in unknown condition. They say he was not wearing a seatbelt.
Iwuh, pictured above at left, formerly played for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Bears and Denver Broncos. Hopefully he wasn't hurt too badly, and hopefully the firefighter will make a swift recovery as well.
The crash comes after one of the most difficult weekends in the history of the Houston Fire Department, after four of their firefighters were killed while responding to a hotel blaze on Friday.
Update: As pointed out by reader JMiller, here's another shot of the crashed Land Rover from News 4 Jacksonville. Ouch.
