How different is it to get behind the wheel of a racecar, compared to that modded Evo (or whatever) in your driveway?
On this episode of Shakedown, Leo Parente goes to the SimRaceway Performance Driving Center at Infineon Raceway to test their SRW-F3 race car on racing slicks. The 1,030-lb race car's built by Lola, has a full carbon tub, and gets power from a modified version of Mitsubishi's 2.0 liter, turbocharged 4G63 engine (out of the Evo) producing 300 hp and 370 lb ft of torque. So, what's it like to drive a car with the power-to-weight ratio of a Bugatti Veyron, 3G cornering, and 1,500 lbs of downforce?
