Like anything else, Formula One has changed quite a bit over the last 42 years. Although the rules and regulations of modern F1 can make race fans long for the days past, it's amazing to see the chaos that surrounded the early days of F1 racing.
From confusion about the rules to physical altercations between officials and drivers on the starting grid and glaring safety issues (notice the race continuing while officials attempt to put out a pair of burning race cars around 14:50) we're shocked even five of the sixteen cars that started were able to finish the race.
While it's awesome to see what the less civilized days of Formula One were like, we're sure everyone involved with next month's Spanish Grand Prix is thankful the event will be almost nothing like it was in 1970.
