A short list of things we'll never tire of: a glass of fine whiskey, the music of John Coltrane, the company of an intelligent woman, watching an old Volvo wagon outrun a Ferrari at a Swedish air force base.
This 1967 Volvo Amazon sports a different set of wheels than it did when it was displayed at SEMA in 2006, but otherwise it's the same mix of skewered preconceptions, major power and sublime craftsmanship that Koenigsegg engineer Mattias Vöcks showed there to great acclaim.
Just for fun (and to prove it still has its 600 hp worth of chops) the mutant opamobile recently showed up for a bit of running against a frost-white 458 Italia. Despite the amateurish video quality (and an unusually intrusive sponsorship) it's clear that the mostly stock-looking Volvo is more than a match for the screaming Ferrari. Long live sleepers.
