The closest we've ever gotten to driving a Corsa in the states is the older and larger Saturn Astra, which sold poorly in the U.S. and never offered more than a low-power 1.8-liter fourbanger. Therefore it's with great sadness we announce the smaller Euro-spec Vauhall Corsa VXR Nürburgring Edition boosts power to over 200 horses from its turbocharged 1.6-liter engine and adds a multi-plate LSD.
Honed on the ring (though what isn't these days?) and fitted with larger Brembo brakes, a torquier engine, and chin-scraping ride height the latest VXR is an affordable entry-level track car for Euros looking to save Euros while enjoying the continent's many tracks.
The 0-60 mph time of 6.5 seconds and 143 mph top speed aren't amazing by our hot hatch standards, but then again not many owners ever drag their GTIs or Speed3s to the track to understand the importance of braking and cornering.
