There are no details in the press release for the sketch of the impending (spring 2012 production target) Infiniti JX other than telling us it's a "7-passenger antidote to the ho-hum luxury crossovers that are out there right now" but then going on to say it has "seating flexibility" and "next-generation telematics."
Ho. Hum.
Given Infiniti's gone a little way towards making porky luxury cars slightly more fun with the M56 and angry luxury crossovers more intense with the FX50 we're not saying the luxury division isn't capable of producing something unique. We're just saying a unique seven-passenger crossover is still ho-hum unless you're making it the JX56 and mounting the V8 in the backseat.
That's not ho-hum.
