We just can't get enough of the 2008 Mazda Furai concept. We brought you preview pics, video, and live floor shots. That's all well and good, but thanks to some overzealous designers, we now have pictures showing off the whole enchilada. Engine bay, interior, detailed close ups... we want it; we want it bad.

Where is the NSFW tags?
It's simply phenomenal that you guys decided to throw in the "o face."
Thank you guys. You made my day.
Spent.
I think that last guy is my Alltel Circle of friends...
IN my circle... damnit, now I only have one friend and he makes the O face...
Never before have I found a mass of wires so compelling...
This name sound like the Japanese analog for "Fry," which I somehow find humorous.
Engine wiring by Coolio.
WOO-HOO! Thank you, Ben!
That engine bay more than makes up for the Silly Tribal Tattoo Rear.
Ha Ha Ha Ha
Furai happy Mazdas laughing (ha ha ha ha)
Mazda's having fun,
Hooning, hooning
See them jump and run.
Hooning, hooning
laughing all the while
Cheerful cheerful
Flashing a big smile
That's a perfect sign
That they're doing just fine
Furai happy Mazdas driving mad
Furai happy Mazdas looking rad
Furai happy Mazdas hooning
Please oh please bring something similar to production...the world needs something to compete with godzilla....
oh yes Ill be bringing my OH! face
little do you know this car isnt made by a bunch of little Japanese engineers in white suits oh nooooooo
its bred from a mechanical beanpod from some alien planet
its so dang fluid looking and whats with the alien wave pattern in the back??? damn I love this car
If this goes in the Fantasy Garage poll i vote YES
so, uh, hows about confirming the 2009 RX-8. last time you showed it, you said it was the RS or something like that and that it would be *close* to the 09 RX-8.
I see it in the background, and i'd like some answers/closure.
also, polar, get a job, or get back to work if you haven't been fired yet ;)
That engine bay is pure messy, mind bogglingly complex, asymmetrical perfection. OH face made me laugh my ass off. Thanks Ben.
god bless it i say
Dear god that is hot.
Mazda always has the best concepts. Keep at it boys.
Epically beautiful.
Small detail: is that the fuel tank under the passenger's legs?
Tangentially related: Mike Relm has a killer video/audio mix involving the "O face."
Screw plasticky covers, that's more like what an engine bay should look like.
I love this car. Mazda, I promise if you build this and sell it for something remotely close to the outer limits of what I can spend on a vehicle without having to live in it all of the time, I will buy it.
O-face made my day.
@Mad_Science: Fire extinguisher / fire supression system I suspect.
That splitter ruins the front a bit, but otherwise...wow. That engine bay is a tech masterpiece.
Would it be too much to mention dragons again?
Nothing new to say here, just one more voice in the choir saying that this shows what companies are capable of when they truly love the things they create. This is seriously the most beautiful thing I could ever hope to see with four wheels. I felt like a teenager seeing Playboy for the first time when I heard the audio the other day.
Zoom f-ing zoom indeed.
Pretty amazing, but since this is basically an awesome body slapped onto an existing ALMS platform, I doubt we'll see anything like it ever produced.
@AndyDuncan: Unfortunately, of course.
here's some engine porn of the ALMS version:

I said before, I'll say it again:
Teh Mazdah Furayy PWNZ U, Kris Banghle!!!!!!!!!
Take DAT, flame surfacing!!!!!!!!!!!!
@ash78: If you're asking, I think it indeed does mean "fry" (as in fried vegetables); TTBOMK, it might also mean "fly" too.
Buncha visuals in that name, I tell ya..."Furai down the Mulsanne Straight".
This car needs 3 seats.
[jalopnik.com] is that a carbon fiber header I spy? If not, that's the neatest bit of exhaust taping I've ever seen!
Sorry Freeman, that's a stamped heat shield. No crazy advances in carbon fiber technology today.
i understand this will never be built..i get it...but just cause jessica alba's never made a pass me doesn't mean she never won't (right?) and so i sit and hope against hope...
i reiterate...good.god.gimmie.
*AT me..pass AT me..dammit man
where's the FRIGGIN ENGINE?
maybe its just 5000 hamsters hidden in those wires...
I would love to have this thing in my garage but that engine bay made me laugh. Typical Mazda rotary engine bay. My rx7 has a mass of vacuum tubes and wires poking every which way under the manifold.
ok..i vote for an edit comment option, cause my blackberry is misspelling like a mofo...k..thx..
One more photo of that machine and I would've made my "O" face!
@m3_of_doom: [www.youtube.com] (from about ~2:10 on)
:)
@bazzword:
I think "my first playboy" (or "playgirl", if you desire) is just about the right reaction to this. Then again, a part of me is saying you have to be an adult (you know, non-virginal) to appreciate something this sexy.
Wait, why can't i stop talking about this car in terms of sex?
@spaceman7: hey, what can i say? i'm a glass half full kinda guy...
@yellofury: I'm with you. That is definitely alien technology. I just knew it.
@piththeelder: Would it be so bad to live in this dreamboat? To curl up at night happy, enclosed in that alien, dangerous beautiful -- well, not "car" certainly--let's say "entity" knowing you might wake up outside of Alpha Centauri--but that would be just fine.
@Novaload: As long there's a corkscrew near Alpha Centauri.
OMG!!!! It's the car from THE WRAITH!!!
H.P.
@HiroProtagonist: THAT'S MY LINE :p
keep it going - damned wraith movie - translucent metallic BROWN!
keep this pictures on your hard drives - print it on photo paper - burn it to cd - we may never see something like this for a LONG time.
If a LeMans racer fucked a dragon...
Or if Megatron fucked an RX-8
Anyone else notice that the airbox has a variable length snout? er nostril? er intake.

The airbox has a variable length snout on it!
