Sunday is for the cars, and this coming Sunday in New Jersey, the car time happens for a great cause. This is your reminder that we’re throwing the inaugural Jalopnik Auto Show in Newark this weekend, and you should definitely buy tickets because they go to relief for three areas devastated by hurricanes this summer.
UPDATE: The event has been postponed due to storms.
To recap: we wanted to mobilize the internet’s biggest and best car enthusiast community (that’s YOU) to try and help our fellow Americans impacted by the hurricanes in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico. And we’re going to have a good time doing it.
The event happens this Sunday, Oct. 29, and you should buy a ticket and bring your car to come hang out with us.
What: The Jalopnik Auto Show For Hurricane Relief. RSVP here. (UPDATE: Due to a glitch ticket sales were closed briefly, but they are OPEN! Open open open. Buy your tickets online or pay at the door!)
Where: A big dang parking lot. The address is 246 Market Street, Newark, New Jersey 07102. A big thanks to our friends at Edison Properties for stepping up here.
When: Sunday, Oct. 29, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. We’ll be there to move the cars into place. Get there early if you can, but we imagine cars will be coming in and out on a rolling basis.
Who: You! Bring whatever car or cars you want. All proceeds will be split three ways and donated directly to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund, United For Puerto Rico and The Miami Foundation.
How Much: Just $10 a person to get in! RSVP here, or pay at the door. That’s $10 per person, not per car. And if you can’t make it but want to donate a ticket anyway, you’ve done your good deed for the week or year or whatever.
See you there!
