What's Faster: An AWD Subaru Or An Old VW Bug?

Same day, same stage, two different cars — Huebbe RallyeSport's famous 1970 VW Bug and teamCONTEracing's Open Light '94 Legacy. Which one's fastest on a rally stage?

I won't spoil the surprise, but it's certainly an interesting ending. Four-wheel drive certainly has been the dominant force in rally since it debuted with the Audi Quattro, so the Subaru would make a fair bet. But the Bug does have its engine fully, completely behind the rear axle, which should give it a kind of traction other RWD cars couldn't expect.

Well, it's not always perfect. Here's a compilation of Heubbe's spins from the same Perryville Rally.

All this being said, I know which car I'd rather race. What about you?

Honestly, I'd rather race in the car that was not trying to kill me every single turn... but I have a wife and kids, so that may just be me.
