Fifty years ago next week, the Jaguar XKE debuted, causing the tightening of pants from Albuquerque to Zhezkazgan. But that was 1961, when car design was both unregulated and barely wind-tunnel tested. What new car is "sex on wheels"?

Sure, we've got more safety regulations, efficiency requirements and a thousands times the high-tech gear than in Sir William Lyons's day. But that's also meant today's designers face 1,000 times the aesthetic compromise. But still, when it all comes down to it, they are in the business of producing "sex on wheels." Have they done it lately?
