Watch vintage race machines hit the track in the middle of an Australian winter

In the midst of the beautiful summer weather it's easy to forget that down in Australia they are in the middle of a cold and wet winter. In order to chase away the winter blues the HSRCA held their all winter race event, which managed to attract the beautiful selection of vintage race cars seen above. From the looks of this video, winter in Australia doesn't seem so bad.

LandofMinos: ...sent down to strike the unroadworthy!

I spent a fair bit of my youth at that track. Lots of fond memories. I even did a few laps in a V8 Brute Ute, a big highlight for me. But the fastest I went around that track was when a bloke took me on a couple of hot laps in his slicked 928. My neck hurts just thinking about it.

BTW This track was originally designed for the MotoGP.

It's a pity the track's now run by a bunch of self important wankers.
