Today, more and more car fans are hitting the virtual race track to get their jollies. It makes a lot of sense to us. For one, they don't have to worry about an expensive repair bill when they inevitably crash off into a ditch or another car. A Zonda/Veyron crash in real life could make someone suicidal.

In addition, you can play with friends from around the world without traveling. It's yet another benefit or these new fangled internets. So what do you get the car fan that loves video games? Or for a car fan that loves track days but crashes way too much?

If you want a wheel, there a bunch of choices out there. The Logitech Driving Force GT is a fine choice at just over $100 for PS3 based players. It has force feedback, programmable buttons, and a sequential shifter.

But if you want to go nuts, get the Thurstmaster T500 RS. Sure, it can cost up to $600, but it's the best wheel on the market by a country mile. It doesn't work with the XBOX though, so you poor folks are SOL.
