Why add a new system? Why not just fix the floor mats that caused the issue in the first place? All you're doing it making your cars even fatter and even more complicated which will in turn make them less efficient and more likely to break some random "system" in the future.
The new Toyotas are going to have crap resale value because the company doesn't understand the concept of keeping it simple and fixing what's broken and only what's broken.
Hell TOMOCO, you OWN Subaru. Why not follow their lead when they fixed the 2008 Impreza WRX? They improved everything that was bad without taking away any of the things that were good and without adding anything extra or unnecessary. You could stand to learn a thing or two from your own subordinate.
