The Koenigsegg One:1 is a rear-wheel drive car with a twin-turbo V8 producing 1,341 horsepower. Some say that’s too much to put down. Test driver Robert Serwanski disagrees.

Yes, there was slower traffic on the track and also a passenger in the car, and no, this wasn’t an official record attempt, just the fastest lap they could manage at the Modena Trackdays.

Their time was 2:33.

The fastest LMP1 car, the Audi R18 e-tron’s best lap was 1:57 last month. The Koenigsegg One:1, a road-legal car is 23 percent slower than an LMP1 prototype.

Not bad Christian. Not bad at all.

Wait, an LMP1 car can go around SPA in less than 2 minutes? A LMP1 car is a whole 9 seconds faster than the best qualifying time from 2014 Belgian Grand Prix? HOW?

On a side note the 2014 F1 time is a whole 21 seconds off pace from the 2009 qualifying. I didn’t even realize. That’s absurd and stupid.

Also it’s insane that the One:1 is putting all that power through the rear wheels. Maybe not all the assists were off or the driver was just being kind but that was very tidy. I was expecting a lot more slip when powering out of some of the tighter corners (especially the last corner).
