There are quite a few beautiful bridges in the world, but the vast majority of them are just infrastructure to get you across that river or crevasse without plummeting to your death. This one is different. And that's because it's breathtakingly gorgeous.
This concept, and yes, it is just a concept, was imagined by British designers Knight Architects.
Designed as a pedestrian bridge, it's about nine feet wide. Hydraulics lift the whole thing up in five sections, probably when a boat needs to get by or you just want to look really cool, to create that Japanese fan shape.
And, like any good, new, modern design, the bridge is illuminated by LEDs.
Will it ever be built? Probably not. Is it sexy as hell? You bet it is.
