Yes, you do need another variant of the Porsche 911. Porsche's only building 1,911 of these Black Edition Carreras. So stop arguing and get out your checkbook, already. Or better yet, your Amex black card.

Available in Carrera Coupe and Cabrio, the Black Edition includes plain black paint (or optional Basalt Black metallic), 19" Turbo II glossy alloys revealing black calipers. And of course you wouldn't touch this thing without special Black Edition interior badging in stainless steel, would you? Of course not. Bam: Got it. Instrument cluster? BLACK. Gear lever and air vents? Whoops! Aluminum-look paint. But rear center console? BLACK. Had enough yet?

Standard Carrera power applies: 345 hp from the 3.6-liter flat-six. Also, the fine 385-watt Bose Surround Sound system is standard. So's navigation, ParkAssist, cruise control, automatic dimming anti-dazzle interior and exterior mirrors, and rain-sensing windscreen wipers. The 911 Black Edition goes on sale in the UK and Ireland from April 2011 and is priced from £67,270 for the Coupé and £74,958 for the Cabriolet – the same price as the standard 911 Carrera models. That includes a Porsche Driving Experience program at Silverstone. Not to shabby, Nige.
