The Panoz Batmobile in the Front-Engined Flesh

Remember the Panoz GTR-1, America’s 15-foot middle finger to mid-engined sports prototypes? Here it is, parked at Lime Rock Park while Krewson drove the Ariel Atom 3 last weekend.

The giant Panoz, second only to the otherworldly Audi R8 when it came to kicking ass at endurance races in the early part of the decade, was on display at Skip Barber’s HQ at Lime Rock Park, where John Krewson and I arrived to ride in the roller coaster hyper-gokart that’s the Ariel Atom 3. Once I rearranged my inner ear, I wandered over to Skip’s school where to my great amazement, this fantastic Panoz was parked. Come and see it up close.

Is that a Ferrari F1 car next to it?!
