The New Honda Civic Type R Is Almost Too Much For The Street

The long awaited new Honda Civic Type R comes with 306 horsepower and 295 foot pounds attacking its front wheels, plus a pretty aggressive body. Would that be too much for you?

I drove the Honda Civic Type R just like XCAR’s Alex Goy, but U.S. publications like can’t say a word about it until next week. Weird, I know, but that means I’m out for now.

It’s not too much for the road.

Honestly this struck me as an exceptionally uninformative review. I want to know, like, car stuff. What’s the powerband like on the new motor, how is the shifter feel and pedal spacing, how’s the steering, what’s the balance of the car like, is there any torque steer, etc... a lot of this can be assumed because it’s a Honda and it has certain attributes inherent to its construction but still, why not cover the important stuff? The reviewer barely even answers the question in the title, and it’s not really the focus of the video.
