Fuel efficiency. You love it. I love it. We all love it! And July was the most fuel efficient month of them all.
Cars rolling off lots in July saw an average fuel economy of 24.8 MPG, which is higher than the year's average of 24.7 MPG, which is the most fuel efficient year ever.
But it makes sense, doesn't it?
CAFE standards require higher fuel economy. Technology has been advancing to make even big V8s fuel efficient. And car buyers are looking to save money on fuel costs.
The average so far in 2013 is a 1.2 MPG gain over 2012, and I'm willing to bet that next year will be even better. I admit, it's not a risky bet, but I'm not a risky guy.
