'The Most Offensive Thing We Can Do:' How A Junkyard Race Car Is Born

In case you’ve never witnessed The 24 Hours Of LeMons, it’s not a typo. It’s a day-long endurance race between crazy people driving jalopies fresh out of a junkyard. And for some, it’s also about angering purists. Like these guys who put a turbo diesel engine in a Porsche 911.

This five-minute documentary; Halloween Meets Gasoline - The 24 Hours Of LeMons by San Francisco filmmaker Marcus Ubungen is a cool tag-along with a Bay Area team of dudes who set out to compete with “the most offensive” car they could come up with.

Gearheads and engineers might appreciate it the most, but anybody can get behind the awesomeness of googly-eye headlights racing against spray-painted trash cans and U-Haul trailers!
