Evo drove the gorgeous F-Type Project 7 both on road and on the track, and it turned out to be slower than quite a few cars that also cut under its $165,000 price tag. Not that it matters.

The Project 7 is a limited edition collector’s car playing homage to the iconic D-Type. It has a much stiffer chassis, slightly more power and downforce, carbon ceramic brakes as standard and less weight to carry. It’s Jaguar Land Rover’s first SVO car and all 250 of them got sold already.

Does all that make it faster than a Mercedes-AMG GT? Not really. But being the ultimate F-Type is no slouch, either. It’s playful, it’s loud, it will do 186 mph and nothing comes close to it in terms of exclusivity and design. It really is a stunning car, and one exactly what a Jag roadster should be like.

If you happen to drive a 911 Turbo, congratulations. Your lap time shall be remembered.
