Usually, when an automaker sets a record lap at the Nürburgring, there’s a lot of yelling about it that follows. Press releases. Tweets. On-board footage. Stuff like that. Volvo, apparently, set a record with the S60 Polestar at the Ring last year and then... went about its usual business and said nothing to anyone…
Some may say it’s already on an old platform. Some may say it’s too slow. Some may say they don’t like the lovely shade of blue. I don’t care what they say, because I kind of already love it.
There's a lot of banter between Polestar Racing drivers Scott McLaughlin and Robert Dahlgren in this video, but they drive a road-going Volvo S60 Polestar on ice and it's rather majestic.
Remember Volvo's crazy fast S60 sedan concept developed by their motorsport team Polestar? Well, it was pretty much the car from Scandinavia we all wanted. Chris Harris loved it too, and it just went into production. Sort of. The only problem is that for now, only Australians can get it, with less power.
