Look, I have a thing for Plasti Dip. Something about watching the colors get mixed, thinking about that rubberization, oh yeah, I want to lick this chameleon-coloring right off the haunches of this Audi RS7. But seriously, get a load of the color-shift people are pulling off with peelable paint now!
I’ve never painted racing stripes on a car myself. But man, watching this video is right up there on the scale of satisfaction with hitting an exact increment at the gas pump or pulling a crusty booger out of your nose on a cold day.
I’m pretty sure throwing a gallon of black paint into a gallon of yellow paint would just leave you with... two gallons of black. Not so with this removable coating stuff though– it turned into a pretty fantastic copper/brown/dirty gold I’ve never seen before.
“Plasti Dip” and its other-brand equivalents are sprayable removable rubberizing coatings that have become a popular way to customize cars. It sort of holds like a vinyl wrap paint, but mixes a little like paint. This gives you a lot of room for experimentation, which worked out pretty well here.
While Toyota’s products are generally considered to be most useful as sleep-aids, there have been ones that might just keep you up all night. Today’s Nice Price or Crack Pipe MR2 is one of those, but will its price require you to sleep on it?
