The program allows prospective buyers to take an overnight test drive, a sales device known as "puppydogging." (Who could possibly give up a new puppy, after it cried and peed all night?) Before you street racing types get any ideas, all of the company's Impreza models are exempt, including the STi and WRX. Subaru will compensate dealers for the added insurance costs, but won't be liable for those who would take their test drives "out on the town."
