Welcome to Sunday Matinee, where we highlight classic car reviews or other longer videos I find on YouTube. Kick back and enjoy this blast from the past.

Tonight's episode of Top Gear features Jeremy Clarkson taking the McLaren P1 around the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. The long-running British program has an extensive history with McLarens, though, reaching back to its old-format days.

After getting a first taste of the McLaren, it's easy to see why the Tiff Needell, Jeremy Clarkson, and the rest of the crew wanted to keep seeing what extremes they could take it to. With the capability to go up to 240 MPH, it's more like it's harder to see how anybody could drive it with a sense of restraint.

Which is why it's nice to see them try to set an average speed record. Even if it is for something as weird as what Tiff considers the "world record" for "top average speed for a production car around a UK circuit." Now I'm not an expert on the term "world record," but I believe that prohibits geographic qualifiers like "UK circuit."

No matter. While you're waiting for your torrent to download, it's still a good watch.
