One More Reason to Buy a Lada: GM and Nissan Accused of Price Fixing in Russia

This image was lost some time after publication.

Here's irony for you. A nation that formerly monopolized every aspect of the distribution of goods and services is now investigating both GM and Nissan due to allegations of price-fixing. The Federal Anti-Monopoly Service, which paved Park Place and put up a parking lot while traveling around in a hat, is checking out the companies' parts-and-maintainence-pricing structures after they were compelled to do so by the nation's insurance lobby. The government? Bullied by the insurance industry? Looks like Russia's joined the first world, after all.
