New Mini Cooper Teased With Classic Italian Job Music

I have to hand it to Mini on this one. Rather than tease us with closeups (which is annoying in and of itself, automakers) of the 2015 Mini Cooper using some generic whatever music, they did it with a tune from the most famous Mini Cooper movie ever: The Italian Job.

And no, I'm not talking about the forgettable 2003 Mark Wahlberg/Charlize Theron mess. I'm talking about the original 1969 madcap heist classic with a young Michael Caine and the late great Noël Coward. If you somehow haven't seen it, you need to.

This teaser for the third-generation BMW Mini, set to debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in a few weeks, features a snippet of the iconic song from the movie sung by the cast, "Get a Bloomin' Move On" ('The Self Preservation Society').

Yeah, I kind of love this. Nice job, Mini.

I really hope they go in the opposite direction they've been going in terms of size. Especially since they are paying homage to Alec Issigonis by releasing it on his birthday.

Also, if an editor reads this, can I get some approval?
