Chevrolet's redesigned 2007 Aveo sedan — launched in Europe earlier this year — will make its stateside debut at the Los Angeles auto show next month. Chevy's Daewoo-designed is larger and more powerful than its predecessor, with a a 16-valve DOHC four engine that'll put a dent in your loafers (huh?), producing around 103 horsepower and 107 lb.-ft of torque and hooked to a five-speed manual. With new munchkins due this year from Toyota, Honda and Nissan — and others expected from Dodge and VW, the entry-level market looks like it'll be hotter than a goat roast in in El Azizia. Trust us, that's hot.
