Mr. Holland's Javelin: 1970 AMC Spot

Richard Dreyfuss isn't exactly the first actor we think of when we think "street tough." But apparently, AMC thought enough of him to give him a gig shilling for the '70 Javelin. Somehow, we think we think it's best to keep the Roger Penske/Mark Donahue Trans Am effort in our hearts as the pinnacle of AMC awesomeness while we try to purge this ad from our minds.

Dreyfus' character reminds me of Leo Gorcey's in "The Bowery Boys".

And to think that 2 years later (35 years ago this summer, BTW), he was driving a Citroen 2CV in "American Graffiti."
