Talk about a black eye in one's own backyard, if we're mixin' metaphors here. Mercedes-Benz has recalled 350,000 cars in its native land over the last year. The next-highest ranking companies were Peugeot, with 65,440 recalled and Ford, with 61,000 called back in for defects. Mercedes spins the recalls as stepping up a campaign to address quality issues, but shouldn't there have been a campaign for quality all along, especially from one of the most vaunted brands in the world? We mean, to have recalled nearly six times more cars than a French company? Dieter, you've got your work cut out for ya, boyo.
