Italiaspeed reports on the surprising checkered flag breached by a Lamborghini Murci lago for the first time. A Lambo R-GT, piloted by drivers Marco Apicella and Yasutaka Hinoi, won in the GT300 class of the Japanese Super GT series at Suzuka this past weekend. Derided by many as a dilettante product of Lamborghini's conceit, the GT racer project was taken over last year by German motorsports firm Reiter. That, along with a deft move downward in class from GT500 where it was punching above its weight, appears to have reversed the fortunes of the the V12-powered, rear-drive-converted racer. It's not quite Scuderia Ferrari, but that could be a good thing.
