The Land Cruiser devotees at ICON have been blessing us with SEMA eye-candy for a couple years now, and it looks like they'll be showing off two new projects in Vegas for 2008. First up is an FJ43 Cruiser done up with coil suspension, Recaro seats and beefed-up axles and transfer case, all motivated by a 450 HP GM LS V8 engine. Icon will also be showing a custom FJ45 Long Bed, basically a resto with mild customization to bring it into the 21st century mechanically. We love these old Cruisers, and ICON always does a great job respecting the original design while updating where necessary, so we're looking forward to seeing these rides in person in October.

Icons will be expensive playthings for a few discriminating buyers who have the cash to purchase their desires, and will not have any effect on future SUV's or trucks whatsoever. Just some more over the top SEMA eye candy.

With the financial meltdown that's happening all around us, I really wonder if it's appropriate to parade all of this very expensive stuff in front of crowds in Sin City, since it looks like almost all of the credit will be dried up for the retailers purchasing all of this "specialty equipment". With another bank failing, I guess we shall see.
