Pictures just simply don’t do these cars justice.
10.) Acura NSX
In pictures, the NSX looks nice but a little bland. In person, it’s actually longer and lower than you think it is. That blandness suddenly becomes elegant understatement.
Plus, it’s got the best popup headlights fitted to any car.

9.) Mazda Miata (ND)
I have to admit, I was a bit underwhelmed with the ND Miata when I first saw it on my screen. The front fascia looked too fussy, but in person, it totally works.
I’ll have a Red MX-5 Club with black BBS wheels, please.
8.) BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe
You will look at a picture and think “why would I buy this over a 5-series sedan,” then you see it in person, and you’ll understand. There’s a reason why this is the most popular 6er.

7.) Fisker Karma
The Karma is so good looking in person, you’ll start to think that Bob Lutz isn’t crazy for wanting to wedge an LS9 in there. It’s a shame such a pretty car had to be subjected to bad engineering, and worse luck.
6.) Lamborghini Huracan
I’ve seen very few pictures that capture the drama of the Huracan. The front drops way down and the driver sits so much further forward of where you’d expect. In person, it’s a masterpiece.
5.) Chevrolet Corvette (C7)
When pictures of the C7 first hit the internet, I thought the styling was too overwrought and trying to hard. Then I saw a white one street parked in Manhattan and I nearly fell over.
Unpopular opinion, but I think it looks better than the F-Type and it’s responsible for creating a whole new generation of Corvette guys. Chevy nailed it with this one.

4.) Jeep Cherokee
The whole internet laughed and pointed fingers at the new Cherokee when it debuted, but after some time people got used to the looks.
Unlike everything else in its segment, it actually looks interesting and it’s just about the right size.
3.) BMW i8
The i8 may very well be the most stunning car on sale today. It looks cool in pictures, but its incredible details jump out at you in person.
You’ll notice details like the flying buttresses, the incredible LED lighting, the blue accents, and how small the car really is. The rear end looks flat in pictures, but dramatic and curvy in person.

2.) Porsche 919
To appreciate a modern LMP race car, you really have to put it’s size in perspective. They look like they’d be huge, but check out Porsche’s 919 parked to a conventional 911 racer.
Now imagine sitting in that tiny car barreling down the Mulsanne Straight at well over 200 MPH at night. It’s incredible to see those incredible shapes on something so damn small.

1.) Ferrari 599
This is a car you can’t even begin to appreciate until you’ve seen one in the flesh. What looks awkward and disjointed in pictures, really works in person.
