Illustration for article titled How Do Cars Feel When You Touch Them?
CountersteerYour true stories of good and bad things that happen in cars.

Cars have lots of surfaces and textures. I’m thinking about how they feel against my hand!

I like how old cars have lots of surfaces. Fins and scoops and creases. They’re interesting to look at, and to touch.

I also like the insides of cars with regards to their tactility. It’s interesting to touch the different surfaces of a new car and get a sense of what was done well and what wasn’t. The leather headrests of a Mercedes S-Class. The plastic lower dash of a new Corvette.

What synapses fire in your brain when I mention cars and also touching them?
