Honda selected Jon and Sandy Spallino of Redondo Beach, California as the world's first individual customers allowed to lease one of its fuel-cell vehicles. During the two-year lease, the Spallinos will use the 2005 FCX as a daily driver, commuting to work, taking their two children to Chuck E. Cheese, going shopping, dropping off the dry cleaning, returning to Chuck E. Cheese to retrieve a lost charm bracelet, bringing Charles to the vet, driving to Target to spend $3.35 replacing a lousy charm bracelet so Becky (not her real name) will stop that damn sulking. You get the picture. The family will fill the FCX's tank at the first refueling station along California's "Hydrogen Highway," set to be completed by 2010.
