Although I'm halfway through "The Man In The White Suit," Ben Collins' Top Gear tell-all of his time as The Stig, I assert the moral right to claim the best line so far is on the copyright page.
While we know the "moral right" statement is found in all UK books — a statement of "Authors' Rights" — in light of the recent legal spate between Collins and the BBC, it takes on a potentially much more humorous context.
Frankly, I was just lucky to get a copy. Sam Smith and I happened upon the new tell-all book at a newsstand at the airport in the UK on our way to the Paris Motor Show. Serendipitously, it was just a few hours after it was released. As I'm only 100 pages or so through the book I can't say much about it at this point other than he keeps the history-of-Ben section as slim as possible. But I'll have more about the book for you as soon as I'm done reading it. For now, here's the very red-is-better-than-dead cover:
