Jeep's new Wrangler for 2007 gets a new engine — a 3.8-liter V6 engine that produces 205 horsepower and 240 lb.-ft. of torque — along with a six-speed manual transmission (or four-speed automatic). But the most novel feature is its three-piece modular hardtop, the removal of which no longer requires the owner to stage a "roof raising" kegger and clear a place over the mulch pit to store the thing. Now, the driver can take the top off by removing the three panels separately. A soft top that folds back to open over the driver's head — creating a kind of reverse cabriolet — is also available.
