The Gumbert Apollo supercar is the fast fruit of a venture launched by former Audi motorsports chief, Roland Gumpert and adversary of boxing legend Rocky Balboa, Apollo Creed (sorry, it's actually the boss of Audi tuning shop MTM, Roland Mayer). The Apollo's motivation is a highly modded version of Audi's 4.2 liter, biturbo V8 (set midship), pushing 650hp, channeled through a six-speed sequential gearbox. According to the company, the Apollo can rocket from zero to 60 in 3.0 seconds and tops out at close to 225mph. Fluent German speakers can check out AutoBild's test drive of a pre-production model, while the rest of us can enjoy Google's mnangled translation for its slapstick value. [Thanks to Daniel for the tip.]
