AutoWeek is reporting Mercedes-Benz is looking to stimulate sales of Maybachs by offering a $50,000 discount on the cars to hotels and resorts, and on dealer demos with at least 5,000 miles. The company, which says sales of the fatback Cadillac aren't slow, only that it needs to extend the brand, is eyeing ways to get more cars into circulation — say, in the hands of casinos' high-rollers. One executive believes the company also underestimated the power of instant gratification, considering the cars, which start at $327,250, are normally made to order.
